Favorites, smarter search, and cleaner place names

Guru Maps 6.2.1 is here, and it starts with the places you visit most. Meet Favorites — pin Home, Work, and every go-to spot, put them in the order you like, and start navigating with a single tap.

Favorites: your go-to places, one tap away​

Home and Work used to be a fixed pair. Now they're just the first two entries in an open list you control. Add as many custom favorites as you want — the gym, your favorite trailhead, the in-laws' place — each with its own star.

  • Pin anything. Save any place as a favorite straight from its details panel.
  • Order it your way. Drag favorites up and down so the ones you use most sit on top. The order sticks across restarts.
  • Start in a tap. Pick a favorite and you're navigating — no searching, no typing.

Favorites follow you everywhere you'd expect them: in the route builder, as search suggestions, and across CarPlay — both in the search grid and in a dedicated list when you've saved more than a couple. The CarPlay dashboard even surfaces the two favorites you're most likely to want right now, based on the time of day, so your morning commute and your evening drive home are always one tap away.

Already using Home and Work? They carry over automatically on update — nothing to set up again.

Online and offline search now run through a single pipeline, and it shows. Results from the online index, your downloaded maps, your bookmarks, and your history are merged into one clean list — no more the-same-place-three-times.

Results are also ranked by where you're actually looking: search "cafe" and the closest ones to the center of your map float to the top, instead of a café two cities away. Titles and subtitles are tidier too, so you won't see the city name repeated in both lines.

A history that remembers where you went​

Tap a spot on the map and start navigating, and Guru now saves it to your history — something it simply didn't do before. Even raw coordinates get an entry. And rather than leaving it nameless, Guru looks up the place's real street and house number on the spot, so your history reads like "Bergstraße 12" instead of a blank line. It resolves a sensible address even in dense areas packed with points of interest, while bookmarks and businesses keep their own custom names.

A few smaller niceties round things out: the map no longer jumps when you open a panel or bottom sheet — it stays put under your finger — and there are the usual fixes throughout.
